WinZip use on Murdoch Staff Computers

Contract Summary

Several years ago ITS arranged for the purchase of sufficient copies of WinZip for use on all Murdoch staff computers. This registered version will not ask the user to register each time you start WinZip.

Please note that licenses for student lab computers HAVE NOT be purchased so this licensed version should not be install in computer labs unless you have arranged with ITS to purchase sufficient copies for you labs.

Latest version

Our license agreement for WinZip provided us with access to the latest upgrades up to and including WinZip 9.0

We have NO license rights to versions newer than WinZip9.0

License Conditions

Note 1: Home use - This licensed version of WinZip is allowed to be used by a staff member on multiple machines (eg home/laptop) only if he/she is the sole user of those machines. If he/she has other family members using the home PC then he/she would have to buy additional licences for those family members.

Note 2: Use of Shareware version - you should not be installing the shareware version of WinZip on any staff or student laboratory computers if the intention is to leave it installed past the free trial time period.

Upgrades

Murdoch staff users with earlier versions of WinZip are eligible to FREE upgrades to the latest versions of WinZip, up to and including version 9.0.

Upgrades are available from ftp://ftp.murdoch.edu.au/pub/mswin/Updates/WinZip/

To install the upgrade, do not uninstall your previous version of WinZip. Leaving the old version installed will allow the installation procedure to replace the old version with the new version, while preserving your registration information and configuration settings.
