A calculator is available at https://wwwcoms.murdoch.edu.au/cgi-bin/ldap_secure/video_conference_calculator that can be used to estimate this cost. You will also be charged the cost of testing of links if necessary. Use of IP calls does not incur a direct charge. Like all other internet traffic, it forms part of the traffic allocation that is assigned to your School or Department. If the site is off-net, the internet traffic used during that session is deducted from the overall internet off-net allocation available to your section. As an indicator, a high quality IP videoconference session to an off-net site would typically use around 200Mbytes of internet traffic for a 1 hour session and would cost about $3. Video recording of the session is also available on VHS tape. The recorder captures all activities including sound and vision from the TV monitor in the room. It can be requested via the booking form at a cost of $25 per 3hr tape. All charges include GST. Using the Facilities:Instructions are available in the rooms on laminated cards. You can also bring along your laptop computer and plug into the video conferencing unit to display presentations or other material as part of the video conference.
